Greetings! I’m Nicole LeBoeuf, Assistant Administrator of NOAA’s National Ocean Service, or NOS.

Tomorrow, September 18, is the Ocean Conservancy’s day to host the 36th year of the International Coastal Cleanup, or ICC.

The ICC is a global event that engages volunteers to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways.

I encourage you to connect with your friends and family to clear trash from your neighborhood or a waterway near you.

And while you clean, remember to collect data through the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app, and be sure to follow local guidelines regarding COVID-19.

We are proud to support the ICC, and thank the global community of volunteers for safely making a difference.
