National Estuarine Research Reserve System page

National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS)

This Web site describes the National Estuarine Research Reserve System, a network of 28 protected estuarine areas throughout the nation in which ecological research and environmental education is conducted. The program, mandated by the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972, is a partnership between the National Ocean Service's Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management and coastal states.

The Cooperative Institute for Coastal and Estuarine Environmental Technology (CICEET)

As a NOAA-University of New Hampshire partnership, CICEET develops and applies tools to detect, prevent, and reverse the impacts of coastal pollution and habitat degradation on coastal ecosystems and communities.
