The Coastal Climate Adaptation Web site offers a wealth of resources to help coastal communities understand and adapt to a changing climate.

States and communities struggling with how to prepare for climate change have a new place to turn for answers—their peers.

The Coastal Climate Adaptation Web site focuses on adaptation-related resources, and includes local and state plans, new policies, case studies, risk and vulnerability assessments, and decision-support tools.  Information categories include state and regional impact assessments, transportation impacts, economic impacts, and more.

The Web site also includes a forum where users can suggest new resources, engage in a dialogue about the issues, and submit comments and questions. It is hoped that this communication mechanism will further the nation’s individual and collective efforts to find suitable adaptation strategies.

People who are somewhat new to the topic also have a place on this website. A wealth of outreach and education resources, including “climate change 101” fact sheets and links to other climate-related Web sites are available. This information is useful for someone who is trying to educate themselves or is looking for help in how to educate others about climate change and adaptation strategies. In addition, the short list of a variety of resources will help those just getting started that are in the beginning stages of developing an adaptation plan.
